Cradle to Grave Process
Cradle to grave is the process of the initial generation of infectious waste to the end of its life cycle at the treatment facility. Sterile-A-Way takes all precautions during this process to ensure the safety of all parties involved. We work together as a team with our customers and treatment facility to ensure this cradle to grave process of infectious waste is treated and disposed of by all state and federal regulations.
Generator
The process of cradle to grave beings with the generator disposing of infectious waste into the approved containers. These containers are leak proof, puncture resistant and safe to store and transport. Once the generator has produced infectious waste and the allotted time frame of storing the waste at the generator’s location is forthcoming, our company, as the transporter, then takes ownership in properly transporting the infectious waste to our intermediate handling facility.
Treatment
Rotoclave
Our treatment facility utilizes a Rotoclave machine to treat the infectious waste. This Rotoclave is a unique machine that sterilizes and disinfects the infectious waste. Our treatment facility takes disposing of waste to a whole new level. Once the medical materials are sterilized, they are sent to a shredding machine to grind the materials into small unrecognizable pieces. This process is what helps separate Sterile-A-Way from our competitors. We take the extra step in making sure our disposal of infectious waste is treated in the highest of standards for safety and security for all parties involved.
End Result
The shredded waste is the end of the life cycle for the infectious material. This process of sterilization and shredding is what we as a company prefer and pride ourselves on upon completion.
